Wild calla is a beautiful aquatic herb, typically found in peaty wetlands with sedges and scattered tamaracks, in or near pockets of open water. It does not grow on strongly acid peat. It needs calm shallow water. The heart-shaped leaves and white spathe (floral bract) are ornamental.
